Isla Fisher admits re-building life ‘from grassroots level’ has been ‘tough’ and reveals she cried as she moved furniture into her new London home after divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen

She’s putting on a brave face as she navigates a VERY public divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen after 14 years of marriage.
But Isla Fisher has now admitted it has been ‘difficult’ to build a new life from the grassroots and said she ‘cried’ as she moved furniture into her new home.
The 49-year-old actress explained: ‘Trying to create a new life from scratch has been emotionally challenging, to say the least, but extremely rewarding.
‘I’m enjoying this new version of my life. I don’t need to party at my house anymore. I love going into the bathroom. I’ll light some candles, bring my laptop, and put something on Netflix. This is as exciting as it gets.’
He also said ELLE Decoration on the moment her furniture arrived: ‘I cried a little bit because it was my first time being in my own home as a single woman.’
Isla also said she makes sure her kids’ bedrooms are on the same floor as hers so she can monitor their smartphone usage.

The 49-year-old actress is putting on a brave face as she is in the process of publicly divorcing Sacha Baron Cohen after 14 years of marriage.
She shares three children, two daughters and a son, with her ex-boyfriend Cohen.
‘I wanted the kids’ bedrooms to be on my floor so I could monitor smartphone use; It needed to be a space and finally an outdoor space for my family who live in Greece and visit me often. “Because of the Australian upbringing I was lucky enough to have, I’ve always been barefoot in the garden or on the beach, so that’s the closest I can get to feeling at home,” she shared.
Isla, who announced her breakup with the Borat actor in April last year, previously explained how she picked up the pieces after the breakup and admitted that the Carl Jung method helped her heal in a healthy way.
The Jungian method is a therapeutic approach that investigates unconscious forces, dreams, symbols and archetypes, aiming at self-understanding, self-integration and realization.
“It’s totally personal and I say that with a caveat because it worked for me, but the concept of processing things and taking your time, thinking over and over again, you don’t really feel better that way,” he told The Australian.
Instead, the Wedding Crashers star continued to act after the divorce, saying ‘yes’ to every opportunity that came her way and throwing herself into her work.
The move allowed Isla to stay busy on film sets, stay active in her community, and reinvent herself creatively after what parents call a ‘power pause.’
She also told ELLE Dekorasyon about the moment her furniture arrived: ‘I cried a little because it was my first time being in my own home as a single woman.’
The couple apparently announced the end of their marriage in 2023 with a photo of themselves wearing tennis gear on Instagram.
“It’s amazing to me that at this point in my life, I positively have the opportunity to reinvent from scratch what the final act of my life is,” he said, saying he loved returning to work.
The actress explained that she did not lose her love for acting during her break from the screen, she just fell more in love with motherhood and still does.
But now she can do both, thanks to the extra time that co-parenting brings.
‘For most parents, we focus on our children and it’s so divine and magical and so absorbing but I now have time when the kids aren’t around, so I have some time to think about what the future might hold for me.’

The caption of the photo read, “After a long tennis match of more than 20 years, we are finally putting down our rackets.”
‘We filed a lawsuit jointly to end our marriage in 2023. We have always prioritized our privacy and are quietly working on this change.
‘We will forever share our commitment and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate that you respect our family’s wish for privacy.’
