A police cordon and a large emergency presence are operating on a quiet residential street in South Wales this morning.

Their presence was in response to a serious incident at Wheatley Place, Cefn Fforest, Blackwood, at around 7.30am this morning.

Although the exact nature of the incident is not yet known, two air ambulances and a special ambulance service unit that only attends to the most critically ill patients were dispatched to the scene.
