While the NDA swept the Bihar assembly polls, leading with close to 200 seats out of the total 243 seats, the BJP emerged as the largest party with a strike rate of almost 95 per cent. Mahagathbandhan, which includes RJD, Congress and three Left parties, was trying to cross the 35-seat mark.
“Heartfelt greetings to the people of ‘Bihar Bhumi’, the guardians of knowledge, hard work and democracy,” Shah said. he said. He said that this overwhelming mandate given to NDA by the people of Bihar is the stamp of approval of NDA’s committed service towards development, women’s safety, good governance and welfare of the poor in Bihar.
“Each vote cast by the people of Bihar is a symbol of confidence in the policy followed by the Modi government against spies and their supporters who threaten India’s security and resources. The people have given a strong response to those who protect spies for the sake of vote bank politics,” he said.
The home minister said it shows the mood of the people of Bihar that purification of the entire country’s voter list is essential and there is no room for politics against it. “That is why the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress has fallen to the lowest rung in Bihar today,” he said.
Describing the poll results as a “victory for every Bihari” who believes in a “developed Bihar”, Shah said those practicing “jungle raj” and appeasement politics will not get an opportunity to plunder. He said the people now gave their authority solely on the basis of “performance politics”.
“Congratulations to Shri @narendramodi Ji, Shri @NitishKumar Ji and all the leaders and workers of NDA. I also salute all the workers of @BJP4Bihar from booth level to state level who have brought this result to fruition with their tireless efforts,” Shah said. he said.
He also assured the people of Bihar, especially our mothers and sisters, that the Modi-led NDA government will fulfill the mandate given to it.
