The IPL 2026 player retention feature will be available for free on the JioHotstar app. It will also be broadcast live on Star Sports channel. The live broadcast, planned to be held on Saturday, November 15, will start at 17.00.
These holding announcements will provide fans with important information about each team’s financial strategies as they prepare for the upcoming mini-auctions, the date of which has not yet been announced.
Currently, BCCI has not confirmed the official date of the IPL 2026 auction. However, the event is expected to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 15 or 16, according to PTI. If this information is true, it will be the third time that the IPL auction will be held outside India.
As mentioned earlier, there have been some notable player swaps leading up to the IPL 2026 auction. Starting with the confirmed transactions, all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been traded from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to Mumbai Indians (MI) for the current fee of Rs 2 crore. West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford moved to MI from Gujarat Titans (GT) for the current price of Rs 2.6 crore. Although not officially confirmed, many reports suggest that Rajasthan Royals (RR) have traded wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in exchange for all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. MI also traded Arjun Tendulkar to LSG for Rs 30 lakh. Additionally, Mohammad Shami will transfer to LSG from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a cash deal worth Rs 10 million.
