Woman guilty for lying about wife’s Space Station access to bank account

A former Air Force intelligence officer has admitted lying to a federal agent by claiming he illegally accessed his estranged astronaut wife’s bank account while aboard the ship. International Space Station He was sentenced to six months, prosecutors in Houston, Texas, said Friday.

The Kansas resident was charged with making false statements about McClain to NASA’s Office of Inspector General and the Federal Trade Commission.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas said in a statement Friday that Worden “alleged that his estranged wife guessed the password and illegally accessed his bank account while his estranged wife was being sent to the International Space Station” in July.
“However, Worden actually opened the account in April 2018,” the office said. “Both parties had access to this account until January 2019, when Worden changed his credentials.”
“The investigation revealed that Worden gave his wife access to bank records, including login information, dating back to at least 2015,” the statement said.
McClain’s lawyer told New York Times He said he checked the account in 2019 to monitor the family’s finances and was not told by Worden that he could not access the account.
McClain was on the Space Station from December 2018 to June 2019.
He recently served as commander SpaceX The Crew-10 crew will travel to the Space Station from March to August of this year.
Worden, who is free on bail, is scheduled to be sentenced on February 12.
He faces a maximum possible prison sentence of up to five years.
