Senior Congress leader Vijay Waddetiwar on Saturday, November 15, 2025, demanded a judicial inquiry by the Supreme Court judge into alleged irregularities in the Pune land deal involving a company linked to Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The Congress Legislative Assembly Party leader has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding an “impartial, independent and detailed” investigation, alleging that the government is “misleading” people in this regard.

He claimed that the case filed against the two Tehsildars was not related to the disputed land acquisition but to another matter.
“All officials involved in the acquisition of homeland land must face the case,” he said, adding that senior officials cannot escape responsibility and the district collector and sub-divisional officer (SDO) cannot wash their hands of this case.
“The irregularity took place with the involvement of officers from the Collectorate downwards. In such a case, how can the Collector take part in the investigation committee?” he asked.
He demanded that the current panel of inquiry is a farce and should be scrapped immediately.
“The government should not protect anyone. The government should order a judicial inquiry chaired by a Supreme Court judge,” the CLP leader added.

The deal is under scrutiny for alleged purchase of a prime ‘Mahar Vatan’ land in Pune’s Mundhwa district worth ₹1,800 crore for ₹300 crore.
Despite Ajit Pawar’s announcement that the deal was cancelled, the government set up an inquiry committee.
