Tejashwi Yadav’s sister Rohini Acharya issues first statement after quitting politics: ‘Go and ask…’

Rohini Acharya alleged that she was ousted by several key members of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leadership. “I don’t have a family,” he told reporters at Patna airport.

Rohini Acharya, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, spoke for the first time after announcing her decision to sever ties with her family and quit politics. Acharya claimed that he was pushed by several key members of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leadership. “I don’t have a family,” he told reporters at Patna airport.

‘Thrown out, disgraced, abused’

Answering journalists’ questions about the shock decision, Acharya said, “You should go and ask Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. They were the ones who kicked me out of the family.” He added: “They don’t want to take any responsibility… The whole nation is asking why the party has failed so much. When you take the names of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, you are thrown out of the house, disgraced and harassed.” His comments came a day after the RJD suffered one of its worst defeats in the Bihar legislative assembly elections.
