Following the landslide victory of the BJP-led NDA in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Election, discussions on government formation have intensified on the political streets of Patna. With the BJP emerging as the largest party in the state by winning 89 of the 101 seats it contested, discussions continue regarding the swearing-in ceremony where Nitish Kumar is expected to continue as the Chief Minister.
According to a report prepared by India Today, According to sources, the swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Bihar is likely to take place on November 19 or 20 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s schedule is finalised. Meanwhile, preparations are on for the grand oath ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where Prime Minister Modi as well as chief ministers of BJP-ruled states are expected to be there.
NDA’s decisive victory in Bihar
The BJP-led NDA achieved a landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, crossing the critical majority mark of 204 seats in the 243-member Assembly. Meanwhile, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, of which the Congress is a part, was subjected to a humiliating crackdown as it could not even cross the 50 mark.
