Robert Vadra doubts NDA’s big Bihar win, seeks repoll

He made this statement while raising questions about the Election Commission’s role in the polls.
His brother-in-law and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday called the Bihar results “truly surprising” and said “we failed to achieve victory in an election that was unfair from the very beginning”.
Vadra told the media here: “The people of Bihar are actually not happy (with the poll result). Whatever happened, happened because of the Election Commission. The Election Commission helped.”
Without naming the NDA, Vadra claimed that no one agreed with the outcome of the Bihar polls.
“Rahul Gandhi will meet people tomorrow. All young people will join him and start a movement to protect democracy,” he said. Vadra reiterated that the recently concluded assembly elections in Bihar were “not conducted properly” and fresh elections must be held there. The businessman claimed that the decision would change if re-elections were held in the eastern state.
Vadra, who was on a two-day religious visit to Madhya Pradesh, said, “The country needs change. Whatever the mistake the government does, young people do not like it. We will definitely fight for democracy.” He will travel to Ujjain and other pilgrimage places.
In Bihar, the NDA put up a spectacular show by winning 202 of the 243 seats in the state. Its two main constituents, the BJP and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), won 89 and 85 seats respectively. Mahagathbandhan, a coalition of Congress, RJD and other parties, could get only 35 seats.
