Mahagathbandhan’s deputy CM face Mukesh Sahani on Bihar election result

On November 14, the ruling NDA won another term in Bihar, winning 202 seats and a three-fourth majority in the 243-member House of Representatives. This is the second time the NDA crossed the 200 mark in the assembly polls. It had won 206 seats in the 2010 polls.
Commenting on the results of the Bihar elections, Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani on Sunday claimed that monetary influence played a significant role in the results. Speaking to reporters, Sahani said, “In elections, you either win or lose. Mahagathbandhan did not achieve the expected success. NDA emerged victorious and I congratulate the NDA leaders. They did not get the mandate of the people. They won because of money. They openly gave money to women and women voted for them. Earlier, powerful men were buying the votes of poor people with money, which was considered illegal at that time; now this is being done openly.”
He further said, “Youths supported us but women, who constitute a large population, voted for NDA. We will continue our fight for democracy. Now the government needs to fulfill its promise to ‘Jeevika Didi’. It is everyone’s loss, just like it would have been everyone’s victory if we had won.” Sahani, who is also the Deputy CM candidate of the Mahagathbandhan, also touched on the election dynamics provocatively, highlighting the alleged financial impact on the poll results by saying, “There is a reel on social media platforms where Rs 10000 mein kya milta hai? 10000 mein Bihar sarkaar milta hai (What you get in Rs 10,000, you get a government in Bihar) is mentioned.”
