A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called to reports of an explosion on Queens Road in Wimbledon at 10.06am.
They added: “We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and an incident response officer. We also sent paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).
“We treated a man who was injured at the scene and took him to hospital as a priority.”
