SCR GM highlights safety protocols at level crossings

South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava advised officials and staff to strictly maintain safety protocols at all level crossing gates to ensure safety of road traffic and safety in train operations.

At the weekly safety meeting attended by senior officials at Nilayam Railway on Monday, he called for strict adherence to safety protocols at all non-interlocking gates and reviewed the action plan for conversion to locked level crossings.

The ongoing work on the bridge under/over roads should be accelerated, and sufficient amounts of fog devices, electricity and signal equipment should be available on the roadside. Dedicated international lines, extension of loop lines, provision of additional stable lines at all major stations, construction of extension works related to station buildings, etc. It was stated that related studies were also reviewed.
