Liev Schreiber, 58, taken to hospital where he is undergoing a ‘battery of tests’

Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber checked into the hospital on Sunday after suffering a dramatic headache.

Schreiber made his breakthrough in the 1996 film Scream. His most recent works are The Perfect Couple and Caught Theft.
The San Francisco native is married to Taylor Neisen, 32; They met in 2017, got married in July 2023, and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Hazel Bee, in August 2023.

It’s not the actor’s first headache-related health problem.
While appearing in the movie ‘Doubt: A Parable’ on Broadway in 2024, he revealed that he was diagnosed with a rare condition called transient global amnesia (TGA), caused by migraines.

‘The worst nightmare an actor can have. I was in my dressing room and had a terrible headache. “I thought maybe it was a fast food headache, but I felt a little stronger than that,” he shared on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

He said he knew ‘something was wrong’ when he saw his co-star Amy Ryan backstage, but couldn’t remember her name.

His condition worsened when he stepped back on stage and could not remember his lines.
“They’re all disappearing,” he explained. ‘The game flew out of my mind… I know I’m in a game, but I don’t know which game.’
‘My doctor, who is a friend of mine, came in and had a horrified look on his face. My wife comes and looks very scared. “Okay, I had a stroke. That’s it.” ‘I think.’
Even though he was diagnosed with Transient Global Amnesia, Schreiber was sure he was having a stroke.
‘The guy said, ‘You can’t have this again and it will disappear in 8 to 24 hours’ which I didn’t believe. You know, being a typical hypochondriac Jew, I was convinced that I had a stroke and they couldn’t find it.’
Schreiber explained that he had an MRI, which showed that there was no brain hemorrhage and that his brain looked ‘perfectly fine.’
‘Apparently it’s caused by migraines and rough sex,’ he joked.
‘I go to sleep, I wake up, I remember the whole game,’ he recalled. ‘I didn’t have any other problems. ‘I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking the night off from the theatre.’

Meyers joked that it was “so sad” that the Emmy-nominated star got TGA from migraines and not sex.
‘I know! “I had to take it from migraines when the other option was literally going crazy with your brain,” Schreiber said with a laugh.
Schreiber is perhaps best known for his starring role in the Showtime crime drama series Ray Donovan, which aired from 2013 to 2020.
It has been nominated for nine Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards in the past.
