Srisailam Glows with Laksha Deepotsavam

Kurnool: The temple organized Laksha Deepam and Pushkarini Harathi on Pushkarini Monday on the occasion of the fourth Monday of the month of Karthika. These sacred rituals are performed for the well-being and prosperity of the world. During Deepotsavam, the entire Pushkarini building was illuminated with thousands of lamps, creating a divine atmosphere.
Earlier in the evening, Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy, Bhramaramba Ammavaru and Pushkarini were offered ten types of Harathis as mentioned in the scriptures.
Before Hararti, the utsava idols of Sri Swamy and Ammavaru were taken in a procession to Pushkarini where special rituals were performed. Then ten Harathi (Omkara Harathi, Naga Harathi, Trishula Harathi, Nandi Harathi, Simha Harathi, Surya Harathi, Chandra Harathi, Kumbha Harathi, Nakshatra Harathi and Karpura Harathi) were offered with devotion.
From early morning, a large number of devotees visit the temple to offer prayers on this auspicious Monday. Many took a holy dip in Pathalaganga before going for darshanam of Sri Swamy and Ammavaru. Devotees come in large numbers during the month of Karthika, especially on public holidays, Karthika Mondays and Karthika Pournami.
To ensure a hassle-free and comfortable darshanam, the temple authorities have made special arrangements. Special areas have been arranged at Uttara Mada Veedhi and Gangadhara Mandapam to enable devotees to light Karthika Deepam and offer prayers.
