School children put in detention because parents can’t afford uniform

More than two of the five parents reported that their children faced negative results in the school, including detention and exclusion, because they could not meet the necessary uniform.

The 3,000 parents of the UK, which was assigned by the Children’s Association and conducted by Censuswide in June, emphasizes important financial load school uniforms on families and leads to punishing measures for students.

The Secretary General of the Association of School and College Leaders Pepe Di’isio said: “The experiences reflected in this survey are worried and showing how difficult the financial position is for some families who have to make impossible decisions.

“Most schools – according to our experience – cost pressure on families are conscious and they work hard to support many children living in difficult financial conditions in our country.

“We support the government’s intention to limit uniform costs – but we think that instead of specifying the number of permitted branded products, we think that it will be better achieved with a monetary limit.”
