Roof partially collapses at mall in west Phoenix after powerful storm

The roof of a shopping mall in West Phoenix partially collapsed, and flights at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport were delayed due to strong storms that ripped through the area on Nov. 19.

The Phoenix Fire Department confirmed the roof of the Desert Sky Mall at 75th Street and Thomas Road collapsed.

Significant hail fell west of downtown Phoenix, leaving parts of the desert landscape looking like a snowpack.
