President Donald Trump was not invited to former Vice President Dick Cheney’s funeral, Axios reported Thursday.
Cheney’s funeral is scheduled for mid-morning Thursday at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. It is customary for US presidents to attend the funerals of past presidents and vice presidents, but Trump has had a uniquely poor relationship with Cheney’s family in recent years.
Cheney’s daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., helped lead the House investigation into Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Both Liz and her father supported former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential campaign.
