Las Vegas Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton ‘not looking forward to 2026’ after tough season

Hamilton is sixth in the drivers’ championship, 73 points behind his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc, who is in fifth place.

The 40-year-old driver has not yet been able to take a place on the podium at Ferrari this season, but he managed to win the sprint race in China in March.

If he fails to finish in the top three in the final two races of 2025, this will be Hamilton’s first season without a podium in F1.

After a difficult qualifying session in the wet on Friday, he fell behind in the race in Las Vegas and struggled to gain speed on extremely wet tyres.

Hamilton described his first year at Ferrari as “a nightmare” following his retirement from the Sao Paulo Grand Prix two weeks ago.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the Vegas race, he said: “I feel terrible. It’s been the worst season ever and no matter how hard I try, it just keeps getting worse.”
