Horror as at least two people die as ‘van crashes into crowd’ in popular tourist hotspot | World | News

At least two people died and eight people were injured when a minibus crashed into a crowded area in the tourist center.

Local reports show the driver accelerated his car into a large crowd in a popular South Korean destination filled with holidaymakers.

As paramedics rushed to the scene, 10 people needed emergency treatment, two of whom were pronounced dead after suffering a heart attack.

One more person in the group was seriously injured and all of the victims were taken to hospital for further treatment.

The Jeju Fire Department confirmed that they were called to the scene in Yeonpyeong-ri around 2:45pm (5:45am GMT) on Monday.

They also announced that an air ambulance was sent to the scene to treat the victims as soon as possible.
