Violent mob attacks residents, burns car in New York City street takeover

The attack began around 12:30 a.m. Sunday after a group of drivers were seen speeding across residential lawns and doing donuts at the corner of South Drive and 141st Street in Malba in Queens, the New York Post reported. reported.
According to City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino, who represents the neighborhood, a private security guard initially tried to calm the situation but was later attacked by the crowd and his vehicle was set on fire.
Larry Rusch, who owns a security company, reportedly heard drivers demonstrating in the street. When he rushed out to see what was causing the commotion, he was greeted on the street by about 40 cars, The Post reported.

Rusch reportedly attempted to park a company car at the intersection to prevent drivers from causing further damage.
“As soon as I did that, everyone started leaving,” Rusch told The Post. “Then two people went towards the car. They somehow threw fireworks or something and burned the car. Then the fight started again.”
Another resident was also attacked, according to the report.

“When I came out, I said, ‘Bro, you gotta get off my property,’” victim Blake Ferrer told The Post. “That’s when it all started.”
The incident quickly descended into chaos; Video showed the group allegedly attacking Ferrer and his wife, leaving the Queens man with a broken nose and ribs. In additional images a vehicle is on fire while another car circles around him.
Paladino expressed his concern about the incident on social media, adding that Ferrer was “lucky he wasn’t killed.”
