Missing football coach wanted on child pornography charges, police say
A high school football coach in Virginia who disappeared last week is wanted on other charges related to possession of child pornography and solicitation of a minor, police said Tuesday (Nov. 25).
Travis L. Turner, 46, of Appalachia, Virginia The person who has been missing since Thursday, November 20, The suspect is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to harass a minor, Virginia State Police confirmed to USA TODAY.
Additional charges are pending and the case remains under investigation, the agency said.
“Police are actively searching for Turner,” state police said in a statement Tuesday.
Union High School football coach Travis Turner was wanted on child pornography and related charges.
Turner is the head football coach at Union High School, which is in the midst of a perfect 12-0 season and will play in the Virginia Region 2D championship game.
State police dispatched to Travis Turner’s home
Police said officers were dispatched to Turner’s home in Wise County on Thursday, Nov. 20. During the transport, agents were notified Turner was no longer there, police said.
