South Miami woman allegedly attacks boyfriend with machete, faces charges

According to reports, a South Miami woman was arrested for allegedly attacking and injuring her boyfriend with a machete during a violent confrontation at his home.
Officers first encountered the victim at the South Miami Hospital Emergency Department; where he was being treated for a “deep tear” in his right elbow, police said. According to Law and Crime.
The man told investigators he was injured during a fight with his girlfriend, 49-year-old Liz Frechel, according to the report.
According to the arrest report, the argument began during a date on the evening of Nov. 20 at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Fontainebleau.

The man said the couple had an argument after Frechel confronted him over a photo that showed him embracing and holding hands with another man. He told police he left Frechel at the restaurant.
The situation reportedly worsened the next day, on November 21, when the man went to Frechel’s home near Southwest 72nd Street and 62nd Avenue in Miami to return his medication, glasses, and mug.
At that point, she said, Frechel became enraged and yelled at her, according to the report.

Once inside Frechel’s bedroom, he “locked her in the bedroom against her will,” police said. He then allegedly told her, “You’re not going anywhere, you son of a bitch—. You’ll pay for it.” Police said Frechel then went to his closet and pulled out a machete.
According to Law & Crime, the arrest report states that she tried to escape with her boyfriend’s keys, but Frechel swung the machete at him, cutting his right elbow while yelling, “I’m going to kill you, you son of a bitch.”
Her boyfriend ran out of the house, got into his car and took himself to the hospital with the injury he received from his elbow.

Police arrested Frechel at his home shortly after 7:15 pm that evening. Just before midnight, Turner was booked into Guilford Knight Correctional Facility, according to reports.
Frechel faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment with a deadly weapon, according to records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Frechel appeared in bail court on Nov. 22, where a Miami-Dade judge ordered him to have no contact with the victim.
The court denied bail on the attempted murder charge and set bail totaling $15,000 for the aggravated battery and false imprisonment charges, according to documents.
