Special Intensive Revision: digitisation nears half-way mark in Kerala

According to election officials, almost half of the counting forms distributed for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls have been digitized.

Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar said 1,37,36,737 forms were digitized as of 6 pm on Wednesday. This accounts for 49.32% of the total distributed forms.

Kelkar, meanwhile, said that the number of ‘untraceable forms’, in which voters cannot be tracked, increased to 3 million 80 thousand 120.

Mr. Kelkar said he held a video conference with the booth level officers (BLO) who had digitized less than 100 forms to understand the problems they were facing. He said more camps were being organized to collect the filled forms from the public and upload the data.

The house-to-house counting phase had started in Kerala on November 4. This phase will end on December 4.
