Dhanush, Kriti Sanon’s romantic drama sees solid growth, mints Rs 33 crore

Day 2 of Tere Ishk Mein box office collection

The intense romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, which released on November 28, stars Dhanush as Shankar and Kriti Sanon as Mukti. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Priyanshu Painyuli, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Paramvir Singh Cheema and Vineet Kumar Singh in lead roles. Although it received mixed reviews from audiences and critics, it performed well at the box office in its opening weekend.

Tere Ishk Mein earned a net worth of Rs 16 crore in India on its opening day. The Hindi version accounted for most of these earnings; 15.25 lakh and the Tamil dubbed version collected only Rs 75 lakh. According to early estimates from entertainment streaming portal Sacnilk, on the second day of its release, the Dhanush and Kriti Sanon starrer earned Rs 17 crore from both the Hindi and Tamil versions. This takes the film’s two-day collection to Rs 33 crore nett in India.

The Dhanush and Kriti Sanon film is directed by Aanand L Rai and is a standalone spin-off of the 2013 romantic film Raanjhanaa, starring Dhanush as Kundan and Sonam Kapoor as Zoya. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who played Kundan’s best friend Murari in Raanjhanaa, is reprising his role in a guest appearance in Tere Ishk Mein.

Aanand L Rai’s directorial boasts of a superior AR Rahman soundtrack, which is the best Hindi album of the year. Usey Kehna, Aawaara Angaara, Deewaana Deewaana, Tere Zikr Mein, Jigar Thanda and Tere Ishk Mein with the title song; the musical offers a variety of songs across different genres that are currently chartbuster on the streaming charts. The latest release is the third collaboration between Rai and Rahman after Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re.
