Meghan Markle wears festive fashion worth £62,000 in one-minute trailer for Netflix holiday special – as she invites viewers to ‘unwrap the magic’

Meghan Markle kicked off the festive season with Hollywood glitz and a wardrobe that cost more than a family’s entire Christmas budget.
Releasing the trailer for her upcoming Netflix holiday special, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, invited viewers to “unleash the magic and let the festivities begin” – but it was the bright images and tear-jerking outfits that took center stage.
Blending easy-going domesticity with a luxurious lifestyle aesthetic, the carefully curated teaser appears designed to reinforce Meghan’s evolving screen persona: part stewardess, part lifestyle guru, part global celebrity.
“I love the holiday season,” Meghan says as she hops between Christmas trees and continues showing off her handmade creations and hanging decorations on the tree. The message is clear: Meghan wants the world to know that she is the queen of the Christmas season.
But what really attracts attention is her wardrobe. Throughout the trailer, Meghan cycles through a series of outfits totaling £62,279.
The Duchess makes her first appearance in a £4,105 Max Mara coat, followed by a £650 designer Gabriela Hearst understated sweater vest and an oversized Givenchy white shirt worth £890.
The clothes she chooses are equal parts festive and luxurious, deliberately simple yet unmistakably expensive.
The most important resistance comes towards the end of the trailer; Meghan lights up the candles wearing a Galvanized silk emerald green gown, paired with her signature minimalist yet undeniably lavish jewelery style.
As she hung ornaments on the Christmas tree, Meghan tucked her favorite £890 Givenchy oversized skirt into a festive red Simkhai pencil skirt, £223, and added a pair of sparkling £105 Birks earrings
Meghan’s Ushuaia emerald dress by Galvan costs £38,835 and the poster also features Princess Diana’s £22,000 Cartier watch, £7050 Cartier Love bracelet, £3795 Jennifer Meyer bracelet and £4595 Ariel Gordon diamond bracelet
On her wrist rests a staggering pile of jewelery worth £37,440; It’s a festive extravaganza far removed from the complicated tinsel and budget-busting shopping lists that are the December routine.
Between wardrobe changes and immaculate interiors, the camper makes room for wholesome family moments.
‘It’s about finding time to connect with the people we love,’ Meghan says as she pops champagne, stopping to give Prince Harry a kiss; It’s a scene meant to seem sincere but clearly choreographed.
But even gentle, pseudo-spontaneous moments can’t distract from the scale of the grandeur on display.
As Meghan moves from the kitchen counter to the craft table to the twinkling tree, each scene seems designed to showcase another luxurious ensemble; each a reminder that this is no ordinary holiday special, but a curated window into a lifestyle that few can dream of replicating.
The overall impression is of an abundance of time, resources and money spent creating a Christmas experience that seems almost too pure to touch.
While Meghan has always embraced a blend of glamor and family warmth, this trailer raises the bar to new heights.
Bright, gorgeous and unapologetically indulgent, where every detail shines just a little brighter than reality.
Meghan paired a £250 Dôen spotty midi skirt with a £530 Co cashmere jumper for a casually chic outfit while creating a wreath
Meghan wore a £317 Altuzarra tie-waist cashmere jumper, while forest green cashmere for dyeing pottery.
Hanging stockings on the fireplace, Meghan dressed stylishly in a £200 olive green silk top and £190 skirt from New York-based brand Argent.
The emerald green Galvan dress featured in the trailer caused a stir online when eagle-eyed fans noticed that Meghan had previously worn the dress for a Variety shoot.
In another recent incident, Meghan was spotted out with Prince Harry at a club in New York City last month wearing a black-and-white midi dress designed by Chanel; she previously wore this outfit in a photoshoot for The Cut magazine in 2022.
This led to false accusations that the Duchess had taken dresses from cover shoots without permission; but his team now denied any wrongdoing.
A spokesperson for Meghan told the Daily Mail: ‘The implication that any items were taken without the full knowledge and approval of on-set stylists or relevant teams is not only categorically false but also grossly defamatory.
‘All items retained were done so in a completely transparent manner and in accordance with contractual arrangements.’
Another source claimed that it is normal for celebrities to hide certain items from photo shoots, including to prevent possible resale or unauthorized auctions.
It also noted that clothing worn by members of the Royal Family and other public figures has been targeted for resale in the past.
A fashion source told Page Six: ‘It’s not uncommon for talent to love something from a shoot and want to keep it or buy it.
‘If it is something the designer cannot attend or there is a sample that needs to be returned they will normally be offered a discount.’
