Detroit snowstorm timeline and expected snow totals in SE Michigan
SOUTHFIELD, Michigan (FOX 2) – Snow totals across most of metro Detroit It will vary around 5-8 inches and many people will get 6 or 7 inches total. Here are the scheduling details.
Big picture view
Light to moderate snow will begin around 1 p.m. Light snow will cover the lawn and mulch beds, but it won’t stick to the ground right away.
The intensity will increase in the afternoon, heavy snowfall will hit around 20:00 and then continue throughout the night. While heavy snowfall begins around 07:00 in the morning, light dotted snow lasts until almost noon. It will snow heavily for almost 12 hours!

There will then be some lake effect through Sunday afternoon.
Paddling time will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday. Place the salt on the ground after shoveling it away, as freezing temperatures will set in overnight and create icy spots.
