Chico cancels July 4 event after ‘unpermitted’ fireworks warehouse explodes

The four July celebration in Silver Dollar Speedway, Chico, Northern California, was canceled after a warehouse burst that destroys the fireworks supply. According to a press release from Speedway officials, fireworks were destroyed in a explosion in a warehouse in Yolo district Esparto on Tuesday, July 1.
