GMB star sparks backlash for defending Rachel Reeves: ‘Horribly bullied’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Good Morning Britain star Narinder Kaur faced mixed reactions online after defending Rachel Reeves. The TV star took to social media to claim the Chancellor was “horribly bullied”.
Laura Kuenssberg questioned Ms Reeves on Sunday about whether the public had been misled ahead of the budget. The Chancellor said ahead of his autumn statement that he was “of course” not lying to the public and was trying to justify his decisions. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch told the BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg program that Ms Reeves should resign over her comments.
Kaur reacted to the interview and said on
“It’s like a naughty schoolboy, it’s derogatory. Kemi Badenoch seems to have started this last week. Rachel Reeves is being bullied as we speak. She’s being bullied horribly.”
On the one hand, Kaur’s opinion sparked reactions. Jeremy Clarkson simply wrote “Diddums” in the comments section, prompting Narinder to respond: “There’s a way to be decisive without being borderline bullying. If Trevor Phillips did that, he’d win this trade.”
A second person disagreed and argued: “He is in one of the most powerful positions in this country and should be able to handle tough interviews.”
A third echoed: “I couldn’t agree more with this statement. Our politicians need to be held accountable and Laura/Trevor both did so without any derogatory behavior.”
A fourth added: “Just listened to it again. Trevor was basically reminding her to answer the question. That’s what a journalist is supposed to do. She’s known for being direct and that’s a good thing.”
Another said: “It wasn’t that bad,” to which Kaur responded: “It was borderline humiliating.”
But one person agreed with Kaur and said: “I don’t think it’s that bad but you’re right about the cruelty.
“I have a lot of problems with Labor and the Budget but I think it’s been unnecessarily vilified and bullied at times. People forget that politicians are people too.”
