Hard freeze tonight ahead of widespread rain Monday night

A hard freeze is expected tonight ahead of heavy rain Monday night into Tuesday morning.

  • Tonight: Rapidly falling temperatures with hard freezing. Essentially clear and calm. Low: 26°.

  • Monday: A mostly sunny morning, clouds increasing as the day goes on. Staying calm. High: 48°.

  • Monday night: (100%) Cold rain for most. Winter mixing is possible in higher elevations. Low: 39°

  • Tuesday: (80% Mostly AM) The rain loses its effect in the morning hours. Showers are possible in the afternoon. High: 43°

While the sky is slowly clearing with light winds, a hard frost is expected in the region tonight. Temperatures will drop into the lower to mid 20s. Don’t forget to take it with you when you return to work or school on Monday morning.

Tomorrow will start out generally sunny and dry, but it will remain fairly cool with highs only in the mid-to-upper 40s. Clouds will rise in the afternoon as we aim to stay dry until sunset.

Another system will impact the area Monday night into Tuesday. Tomorrow night almost everyone will see showers and cold rain overnight; but there will be another chance to see a light wintry mix at higher elevations. As the system moves through late Tuesday into Wednesday, the area may also experience some storms, but moisture will decrease so the likelihood of accumulation appears extremely low. winter weather The effects of this system continue to appear negligible.

Dry weather will return on Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures remain “below average”; High temperatures will generally be in the upper 40s to 50° and lows will be in the low 30s.

Our next system looks set to impact us on Friday into next weekend as upper-level moisture increases again and winds return from the south. There are a lot of questions about this system being so far away, including how cold it will be, but as of right now, this looks like another cold rain event for most. Stay tuned for updates.
