Royal Family LIVE: Andrew given ‘dramatic’ warning as ‘perk revealed’ | Royal | News

Royal historian Andrew Lownie has claimed that the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor only accepted his release from the Royal Lodge “after meeting every condition”.

Speaking about the latest delay to grant the former Duke one last Christmas at the 30-room mansion, Mr Lownie said Andrew was resisting the Sandringham move until his demands were met.

The biographer stressed that the Norfolk property was unlikely to be a permanent solution and warned that it “could be a temporary stop on a much more dramatic path”.

Mr Lownie predicted that Andrew might eventually escape England altogether and head to the Middle East, where he could live secluded and retain royal treatment.

He told RadarOnline that the embarrassed royal expects to “continue to hire staff” and won’t be moving into anything resembling a modest home. Mr Lownie’s comments underline growing frustration with protracted public purse negotiations, with the move being delayed until early 2026.
