J&K government submits proposal to relax age requirements for jobs to L-G

The J&K government has submitted a proposal to J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to give age discount to job candidates in the Union Territory (UT).
NC leader and legislator Tanvir Sadiq said, “The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has approved the file and forwarded the age reduction proposal. The proposal has now been sent to Raj Bhawan for its approval.”
According to job seekers, many selection lists have been canceled in the last six years and many lists have faced legal challenges. They claimed that hiring was slow during the Lieutenant Governor’s term.
The recruitment was delayed due to administrative restructuring, changes in service rules and protracted litigation after the Center revoked J&K’s special status in 2019.
