Telangana’s Big Heart Should Not Be Mistaken for Weakness
Hyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Wednesday slammed Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for his recent remarks about the people of Telangana, saying they showed disrespect for the sacrifices made during the formation of the state.
Speaking to reporters, he reminded her that Telangana was born from years of struggle and its people who sacrificed their lives for the welfare of children and the nation will not be diminished by provocative statements.
Kavitha said Telangana always wishes well for its neighbor and encourages mutual goodwill by saying “Jai Telangana, Jai Andhra”. He noted that state leaders have consistently advocated cooperation and that the people of Telangana “will have a big heart” rather than narrow-mindedness, but cautioned that such generosity should not be confused with weakness.
Pointing out that Kalyan had moved from cinema to public office, he told him to remember his responsibility to represent Andhra Pradesh and “think carefully before speaking”. He added that although cultural and political rivalries arise, Telangana has never tried to harm people from other states and expects the same respect in return.
