The Narrowest House in the World: Keret House in Warsaw, Poland is considered the narrowest house in the world. Designed by architect Jakub Szczęsny from Polish architecture group Centrala, the unique structure challenges traditional ideas of urban living. Completed in 2012, the small residence stands are sandwiched between two existing buildings at 22 Chłodna Street and 74 Żelazna Street.
Its unusual shape and size quickly made it an international architectural sensation, earning it the title of the narrowest house in the world.

Keret House measures only 92 cm (3.02 ft) at its narrowest point; This is only as wide as the human body. Even the widest part of the house only expands to 152 cm (4.99 ft). Spread over two floors, the total area reaches 14 square meters (151 sq ft). Despite the extremely limited space, the structure consists of a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, all carefully placed within the slim frame.
The two floors of the house are connected by a staircase instead of a normal staircase. The refrigerator is only big enough to hold two drinks, and the dining table can only accommodate two people. The absence of openable windows emphasizes the compact design of the space.

A Home and Art Installation
The house takes its name from Israeli writer and filmmaker Etgar Keret, who initiated the project and was the first resident of the house. Interestingly, the house is not officially recognized as a residential building.
Due to its size, it does not comply with Warsaw’s building regulations. As a result, it was officially designated as an art installation, although people could live in it temporarily.
