Meta deactivating 500,000 teen social media accounts from today

If you are the parent of a teenager you may be facing a difficult morning; As Meta said, starting today, social media accounts of children under 16 will begin to be disabled to comply with the government’s upcoming ban.

Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and Threads, among the platforms affected by the ban, had previously announced that people under the age of 16 will not be able to create accounts as of December 4.
