I am Excited To Play With Meg Lanning And Learn From Her : Kiran Navgire

TATA WPL 2026 Auction brought emotional highs and new beginnings to players joining new teams and returning to familiar ones. Speaking on JioHotstar, UP Warriorz’s newest signing Shikha Pandey and returning powerhouse Kiran Navgire shared their reactions to the auction, reflecting on anxious moments, franchise transitions and the excitement of teaming up with world-class leaders ahead of the new season.
Speaking to JioHotstar, Shikha Pandey described the anxious moments during the TATA WPL 2026 Auction: “There was definitely some anxiety, but I reminded myself that whatever is meant to be will happen. I relied on the hard work I have put in over the last three seasons. I am really happy to be a part of the UP Warriorz family now.”
On her journey with Delhi Capitals and moving to a new team, Shikha said: “I am so grateful to Delhi Capitals for the opportunities, the trust and the support of the coaching group. But now, with UP Warriorz, I am excited to have Meg Lanning there. Playing alongside someone like Sophie Ecclestone is something I am really looking forward to.”
Speaking on JioHotstar, Kiran Navgire recalled that she learned about her selection while she was still training, “I was hitting the nets while my friends were watching the auction. When my name came up, they called me and we all watched that moment together.”
Coming back to UP Warriorz and teaming up with Meg Lanning, I said, “I feel really good about this moment. I wanted to play for UP Warriorz this season. I’ve built a strong bond with the players and the coaching staff, so I’m excited to be back. I’ve always wanted to play with Meg Lanning and I’m lucky to have her join our team. She’s won so many World Cups and big matches for Australia and even took them to the top with Delhi Capitals in the last two-three seasons. All these experiences will help us this year and playing with her and learning from her.” I’m looking forward to it.”
