SIR essential to ensure sanctity of future elections: Suresh Gopi

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls should be made mandatory across the country, especially in Kerala, Union Minister Suresh Gopi said.

He was speaking after the inauguration of the banyan tree talk organized as part of the election campaign of National Democratic Alliance candidate KS Rajesh at Division 27 of Kochi Corporation at Puthukalavattom in Elamakkara on Thursday.

Mr. Gopi said SIR was necessary for the sanctity of future elections. Everyone should vote for the country, not politics. Otherwise, the democratic system will be thrown into chaos. Conscious voting skills should be developed among young people and transferred to future generations.
