Kerala High Court orders KELSA to provide ₹5 lakh to acid attack survivor

The Kerala High Court has directed the Kerala Legal Services Authority (KELSA) to provide ₹5 lakh as interim compensation to an acid attack survivor for emergency treatment expenses.

In 2016, the woman was attacked by two people while getting out of the car near her home and suffered serious burns on her face. He also lost his left eye after the attack.

KELSA had earlier awarded him compensation of ₹ 3 lakh and he approached the Supreme Court seeking another ₹ 15 lakh for emergency treatment expenses.
