3 Flights at RGIA Get Bomb Threat Emails; Police Yet To Receive Complaint

Hyderabad: Bomb threat emails have been received on three flights at Shamshabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) since Friday, leaving airline staff and passengers on edge.
These emails were received at a time when RGIA was witnessing chaos following the cancellation of IndiGo flights.
Emails received to airport customer support ID. On receipt of the emails, the airport authorities alerted the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Cyberabad police personnel. Authorities immediately initiated standard security protocols.
Police teams first carried out intensive checks on the flights, and later announced that these were fake bomb threat e-mails. On Friday, Flight AI 2879 Delhi to Hyderabad received the mail. He landed safely in Hyderabad at 8.45 pm. Similar emails were received on two flights, BA 277 from Heathrow to Hyderabad and KU 373 from Kuwait to Hyderabad.
BA Flight 277 landed safely at RGIA at 5.25, while KU Flight 373 returned to the departure area.
RGIA Police Station Inspector S Kanakaiah confirmed that the emails were received on the airport customer care ID and added that they are yet to receive a complaint from the authorities concerned to know the source of these emails.
