Royal Family Live: Sarah Ferguson humiliated over flopped business | Royal | News

Failed digital startup vVoosh, once backed by former Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, allegedly took more than £1 million from taxpayers but collapsed without launching any products. Sarah served as an ambassador, giving the project its public profile as it sought to gain a foothold in a crowded social media landscape.
Lifestyle app vVoosh was founded by Ms Ferguson’s close friend Manuel Fernandez. It was submitted to administration last month and its failure will raise further questions about Sarah and the business dealings she pursues.
According to documents filed by the executive, vVoosh has raised nearly £9 million, including more than £1 million from the UK government through research and development tax credits.
The administrator’s report states there was a “breakdown in communication between existing administrators/major creditors and the founder” [Mr Fernandez]Interrupting the following communication [his] Resigned as director earlier in the year”.
The report states the company owes £324,609 to a former director. BBC Mr Fernandez is believed to be the only executive to leave the company since 2019. Ferguson served as an ambassador, lending his public profile to the project, which aims to carve out a niche in the crowded social media landscape.
