DJ Tim Westwood pleads not guilty to rape and assault

Former BBC Radio 1 and Capital Xtra DJ Tim Westwood has denied charges of rape, sexual assault and indecent assault at a hearing in London.
The 68-year-old man is charged with four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault. The charges relate to seven women, some as young as 17, and the allegations date from 1983 to 2016.
Three of the indecent assault incidents are alleged to have taken place at BBC studios in 1996.
Mr Westwood was one of the first champions of hip-hop in the UK and appeared on Radio 1 between 1994 and 2013.
