Six teenagers charged over Ellenbrook Secondary College stabbing

Six teenagers charged after killing of Ellenbrook Secondary School student stabbed in schoolyard Monday afternoon, just as classes were about to end.

WA Police allege a group of teenagers who were not students at the school attacked a 15-year-old boy before fleeing the scene.

The injured teenager suffered a laceration to his arm and head and was taken to St John of God Midland Hospital for treatment. His condition is stable.

An hour after the attack, police detained six young people aged between 13 and 16.

The group was later charged with disorderly conduct in a public place, arming to cause fear, unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.

One of the young people was also charged with possession of a sharp-edged weapon.

Three of the teenagers are expected to appear in Perth Children’s Court on Tuesday.

The incident, which occurred around 3 p.m., led to the school being placed on lockdown and students were kept inside for more than an hour until the threat passed.
