Miss Jamaica 2025 suffers intracranial haemorrhage after stage fall

The Miss Universe contestant suffered serious head injuries after falling off stage in Bangkok last month and still requires constant medical monitoring, according to an update from organisers.

In a statement announcing her situation, the Miss Universe Organization said Miss Jamaica 2025, Dr. He said Gabrielle Henry suffered “intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, fracture, facial lacerations and other serious injuries” in the fall of Nov. 19.

He was admitted to intensive care at a hospital in Bangkok and remains in a critical condition and continues to require 24-hour specialist supervision, the organization said.

The statement said Henry “will return to Jamaica in the coming days accompanied by a full medical escort team” where he will be “transported directly to hospital for continued treatment and recovery.”

“The organization has provided unwavering support, covering all medical and living expenses and confirming that Dr Henry has no liability for the incident.”

Footage of the event showed Henry appearing on the catwalk wearing a long, flowing evening gown. He turned left to exit the stage before suddenly disappearing from view. He was later seen being taken away on a stretcher.

In the statement, Henry’s family said they were deeply grateful to the organizers for their support during Henry’s recovery and for covering “all hospital, medical and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as accommodation and living expenses for Henry’s mother and sister.”

Gabrielle Henry is an ophthalmologist who founded the See Me Foundation, a charity supporting visually impaired people in Jamaica.
