Poland to transfer remaining MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine

According to the Polish general staff, Poland, which describes this move as a “donation”, will transfer its remaining MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in exchange for new missile and drone technology.

The transfer of the jets, thought to number just under a dozen, was “part of the alliance’s policy to support Ukraine and maintain security on NATO’s eastern flank”, the General Staff said in a statement on Tuesday evening.

Poland is replacing Soviet-era MiGs with F-16s of US and South Korean FA-50s.
