Man Films Self Casting Vote During Local Body Polls in Kerala, Booked

Thiruvananthapuram (PTI): Police filed a lawsuit against a man who shot a video showing him voting in the first phase of local elections on December 9 and spread it on social media, the SEC said on Wednesday.
An FIR has been registered against Saithali SS, a resident of Nedumangad here, under section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (intentional provocation with intent to cause riot) and relevant provisions of the Representation of People Act, the State Election Commission (SEC) said in a statement.
An officer from Nedumangad police station said that the FIR was registered on Wednesday but the man was not arrested as his details were not known.
According to the SEC, the man filmed himself voting on his cell phone and uploaded it to a social media platform.
The post was later removed, but the SEC shared the video uploaded by Saithali along with his statement.
