Teen social media ban group funded by firm making gambling ads

The birthplace of the 36 Months campaign and Australia’s influential effort to address a youth social media ban was the boardroom of advertising production company FINCH.

36 Months general manager Greg Attwells said the group was born during a single meeting in May 2024 between himself, FINCH founder Rob Galluzzo and Nova 96.9 radio host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli.

Elsewhere at FINCH, staff were hard at work on another campaign: TAB’s “Place Your Bet.”

Television advert – was New Zealand’s The third most complained about ad in 2024 — Just one of many gambling-related projects FINCH has worked on over the past 10 years.
