GRAP IV imposed in Delhi NCR as air quality hits Severe+

This is in phases I, II and III of the existing GRAP currently in force in NCR. It is in addition to the actions within its phases.
Delhi Pollution: In view of worsening air pollution, GRAP Phase 4 has been implemented in the entire Delhi-NCR region with immediate effect. Air quality reached Severe+ (Delhi AQI > 450). CAQM (Commission on Air Quality Management) has determined that Phases I, II and III of the existing GRAP currently in force in the region. In addition to actions under its phases, it has initiated all actions under GRAP Phase-IV in Delhi-NCR.
Considering the prevailing trend in air quality and with a view to prevent further deterioration of air quality in the region, the GRAP CAQM Sub-Committee decides to immediately implement all actions envisaged under the current GRAP – ‘Severe+’ Air Quality (DELHI AQI > 450) Phase-IV across the entire NCR. AQI (Air Quality Index) in Anand Vihar was around 488, which is classified as ‘Severe’ as claimed by CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board).
Delhi AQI
According to data from CPCB, the AQI was recorded at 488 at 7 pm on Saturday. The 24-hour average AQI was recorded as 349 (very poor) at 16:00 the day before. As of 7 pm, AQI readings were 434 at Ashok Vihar, 496 at Bawana, 457 at Burari, 479 at Chandini Chowk, 394 at IGI Airport and 445 at Okhla Phase-2. Once GRAP IV measures come into force, the government is expected to suspend physical classes for students from Class VI to IX, while classes for Class XI and above can be conducted in online mode. On Saturday, the Air Quality Management Commission announced Phase III of the Phased Response Action Plan. He put his step into practice. Phase 3 of GRAP includes banning construction and demolition activities in Delhi and NCR.
