Turkey aids Syria as fires rage on both sides of border

Türkiye sent two fire planes to fight fires in Syria because Turkish firefighters were fighting with a fire next to the border and reported that a person was reported to be dead in the west of the country.
According to Syrian Emergency and Disaster Management Minister Raed Al Saleh, eleven fire trucks and water support vehicles were sent to overcome the flames in the Northwest Latakia region of Syria.
“Sudden forest fires in Türkiye,” he sent to X.
Türkiye has been fighting forest fires since June 26th.
Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumakli said on Saturday that the firefighters successfully controlled 10 major fire in Western Türkiye, but a wounded forestry worker died, third in the state of Odemis in Izmir.
Authorities, most of the fires in Izmir caused by faulty power lines, he said.
Meanwhile, in the state of Hatay, which limits Syria, the emergency teams continued to fight with a rapidly intensified fire in the Dortyol region near a settlement and rapidly intensified due to strong winds.
Governor Mustafa Musatli, on Friday late 920 houses were evacuated as a precaution against the flames.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, 44 suspects were detained in relation to 65 fires exploding throughout the country.
Last week, fires that hit Türkiye, Greece and Syria, rising temperatures, strong winds and low humidity were fed.
They led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people in Türkiye and damaged approximately 200 houses.
The Syrian civil defense expressed his concerns about the presence of an exploded ammunition that has not exploded from past conflicts in some forest fire regions.
Summer fires are common in the Eastern Mediterranean region, where experts warn that climate change is intensifying conditions.
