Agra-based Indian School for Nature (ISN), an institution engaged in education and research on climate action, sustainable tourism and environmentally sound agriculture, has won the Climate Guardian Award at the Tiger Tour Operators (TOFT) Wildlife and Nature Tourism Awards 2025.
The award was presented in New Delhi on Friday, December 12, 2025, to the Uttar Pradesh-based organization, which was established in 2023 and operates from the Mela Kothi campus in Jarar village of Agra in Chambal district. The organization is working on integrating climate responsibility into nature-based tourism in India.
Tour Operators for Tigers (TOFT) is a South Asia-based alliance of tour operators, lodges, conservation organizations and experts. Their work is based on the fact that efforts to protect tigers, national parks, and wildlife in the Indian subcontinent often compete with the urgent subsistence needs of rural communities.
“We at ISN feel that India with its diverse nature and biodiversity can emerge as a global Sustainable Tourism destination and we are committed to being a part of this transformation. Our scientific approach to measuring sustainability has been recognized globally and the TOFT award is a milestone in this journey,” said Ram Pratap Singh, Founder, Indian School of Nature.
Mr Singh added: “ISN is also collaborating with SUMAS (School of Sustainability Management, Geneva) to develop impact-focused knowledge modules for stakeholders of the tourism value chain that can work towards global sustainability compliances mandated by the Glasgow convention, EU directives and COP 28.”
The TOFT Wildlife and Nature Tourism Awards recognize individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact on wildlife conservation, climate action and local community empowerment.
Indian School of Nature also acts as an open-source knowledge platform, offering skills courses, tools and project support to help stakeholders design and implement low-carbon, socially inclusive projects across multiple sectors. In addition to its existing verticals, it develops future-oriented knowledge products on waste management, climate entrepreneurship, climate finance, urban sustainability and energy transformation.
