UK unemployment rate rises slightly to 5.1%

According to official figures, the unemployment rate in England rose to 5.1% in the three months to October.

This represented a 5% increase in the three months to September.

The estimated number of employees on the company’s payrolls fell by 0.5% in the 12 months to October 2025.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said the data reflected a “subdued labor market”.
