Moment Donald Trump ‘struggles to stay awake’ as face ‘droops’ live on-air | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Donald TrumpThe fact that the 79-year-old American leader appeared to have fallen asleep at the round table meeting held at the White House in Washington DC today (Thursday, December 18) raised health concerns. Seated behind the desk in his signature navy blue suit with a red tie, white shirt and a US flag pin, Trump had “a hard time staying awake” during the recorded event as Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. thanked the US President. While Trump was listening, viewers thought his face was “drooping.” On X, formerly known as Twitter, someone shared a clip of Trump looking very tired and wrote: “Trump’s face droops as he struggles to stay awake in front of another camera.”

Another referenced former President Joe Biden and shared: “Imagine having a plaque calling someone ‘Sleepy Joe’ when you can’t stay awake for a full 24 hours in meetings.”

A third commented: “I know that look. He had no idea where he was when he woke up.” Another wrote: “I just woke up but – to be fair – she put a lot of energy into this rant last night. She got quite a workout.”

One Trump defender quipped: “Yes, of course! It’s like listening to a lullaby with that silky smooth voice singing.”

Another added: “To be fair, I too would want to sleep through everything RFK Jr. said.”

It came after he told reporters he was “surprised” and “honored” that the Kennedy Center named the building after him.

Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said in a statement earlier today that the board unanimously decided to rename the center the Trump-Kennedy Center because of “the incredible work President Trump did last year to save the building.”

But Ohio Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty, a board member, claimed: “This was not unanimous. I was muted during the call and not allowed to speak out or voice my opposition to this move.”
